UTC Annual Members' Meeting Addresses "Solving Utah's Talent Shortage" with Joint Keynote from Two Technology Leaders

SALT LAKE CITY --(Business Wire)--

Keyvan Esfarjani, executive officer of IM Flash Technologies, and John Spigiel, general manager of Watson Laboratories, will jointly address "Solving Utah's Talent Shortage" at the Utah Technology Council's Annual Members' Meeting on Wednesday, April 18 at noon at the Grand Ballroom of the Little America Hotel.

In addition to the keynote speakers, the annual meeting celebrates the past year in Utah's technology industry and presents peer awards in the following areas: CEO, CFO, CTO, Emerging Exec., HR Exec., Marketing Exec. and Sales Exec. Awards will also be given for Legislators and Volunteer of the Year. The membership will elect a slate of officers and trustees for the coming year.

Esfarjani is responsible for co-leading the joint venture between Intel (News - Alert) Corporation and Micron Technology, Inc., and he is also a Vice President in Intel Corporation. Prior to joining IM Flash Technologies, he was a director in the Intel Technology Manufacturing Engineering organization. His tenure with Intel began in 1996, where he has held leadership roles in engineering, manufacturing and factory management. He has experience with multipl factory and new technology startups. He received his bachelor's and master's degrees in industrial engineering from Purdue University and an executive management degree from Stanford. Keyvan is a UTC trustee and member of the Executive Committee.

Spigiel has served as general manager, Salt Lake City Manufacturing Operations of Watson Laboratories since November 2006. In this role, he oversees an operations team of more than 250 employees who are responsible for the manufacturing and packaging of Watson's brand and generic transdermal patch and topical gel pharmaceutical products. Under John's leadership, the Salt Lake City facility is currently undergoing a $44 million expansion that includes retrofitting approximately 20,000 square feet of existing space, the construction of approximately 17,000 square feet of future manufacturing space and the potential hiring of approximately 300 additional employees within the next 3-5 years.
