Lex Mundi Announces New Director of Professional Development

Houston, TX, Apr 09, 2012 (PRWeb.com via COMTEX) -- Lex Mundi is pleased to announce the appointment of Suzanne Fine as its Director of Professional Development. Ms. Fine brings to the position extensive experience, most recently as global head of professional development at Linklaters (2007-2012) and Lovells (2002-2007).

At Lex Mundi Ms. Fine will support 160 member firms in 120 countries in their member firms in their learning initiatives and will develop global training programs.

Among her responsibilities will be: the Lex Mundi Institute, which will offer four intensive week-long training programs for member firm lawyers in 2012 (Cross-Border Transactions, Cross-Border Dispute Resolution, a leadership and management program for new partners and an advanced leadership and management program for managing partners) developing 'best practices' to share among Lex Mundi member firms helping member firms develop and enhance their own professional development functions, including a model initiative involving Lex Mundi's ten South American member firms supporting member firms with project management training and the development of their knowledge management capabilities organizing and presenting regional management roundtables in support of member firm management.

Ms. Fine has spent more than seventeen years developing learning programs and training legal professionals and has previous experience as a practicing barrister and solicitor. After receiving her degree from Queen Mary College, University of London, Ms. Fine served as Principal Lecturer and Head of the Bar Vocational Course at The College of Law, London and as Head of Business Development and Visiting Professor at Nottingham Law School. In addition, Ms. Fine was Global Director of Legal Training and Global Head of Learning and Development for two international law firms. She has recently set up her consultancy firm, Professional Education Solutions Ltd in London, England.

Ms. Fine will succeed John Claydon, who has headed up Lex Mundi's professional development activities since 2007.
