BOXBOROUGH, MA, Apr 09, 2012 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) -- VeloBit, a provider of plug & play SSD caching software, today announced the appointment of Mike LaPeters as Vice President of Sales. Mr. LaPeters will be leading VeloBit's global sales efforts including direct and channel sales. He joins VeloBit as the company prepares for the launch of its VeloBit HyperCache product line.

Mr. LaPeters brings 16 years of experience in building and leading sales organizations and channels for storage and infrastructure software products. Prior to VeloBit, he was VP of North American Sales for AVG Technologies, with overall responsibility for SMB business. Prior to AVG, he was VP Channels for CA Technologies where he drove $75M in annual Recovery Management revenue through a channel of 3,300 VARs. He has also served as VP of Sales & Services for Core Security, VP Sales for Winternals (where he helped drive Winternals acquisition by Microsoft), and Executive Director of WW Sales for Storactive. Mike's early career was in sales and channels roles at Veritas, Seagate Software and Arcada.
