RGB Networks to Showcase Multiscreen Video Delivery and Monetization at IP&TV World Forum

(Targeted News Service Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) SUNNYVALE, Calif., March 19 -- RGB Networks issued the following news release: At IP&TV World Forum in London (stand 236), RGB Networks, the leading provider of scalable multiscreen IP video delivery solutions, will be demonstrating how its integrated architecture can ease video service providers' (VSP's) transition to a multi-device IP video environment and speed deployment. Showcasing its award-winning Video Multiprocessing Gateway (VMG(TM)) (http://www.rgbnetworks.com/products/video-multiprocessing-gateway-VMG.php), the industry's most advanced video processing platform, and its TransAct Packager (http://www.rgbnetworks.com/products/transact-packager.php) - RGB's flexible adaptive streaming product - RGB Networks will highlight how its technology can facilitate the next step in the delivery of premium content to any device.

With the proliferation of video enabled devices, consumers increasingly are expecting the utmost flexibility when it comes to content - they demand the ultimate viewing experience, with access to video on any device over any network, delivered free of any delay or jitter. Add 2012's significant line-up of major broadcasting events - with the London Olympics spearheading the list - to already tough consumer expectations for high-quality content and time- and place-shifting of consumption, and VSPs face a new set of challenges in a marketplace with a growing number of competitors.

At the IP&TV World forum, RGB will showcase its Enhanced Video Intelligence Architecture (eVIA), the industry's first standards-based product suite for multiscreen video delivery and monetization. Anchored by RGB's chassis-based VMG transcoding platform, RGB will highlight how its highly scalable solution simplifies the challenges of multiscreen deployments and offers a new revenue-generating opportunity through adaptive bitrate ad insertion for hyper-targeted advertising across all screens.

RGB will also highlight another key eVIA component - the TransAct Packager. Closely integrated with the VMG, it is the only packager on the market that supports all three major adaptive streaming protocols - Apple HTTP Live Streaming, Microsoft Smooth Streaming and Adobe HTTP Dynamics Streaming - for both live and on-demand packaging. With this flexible hardware- or software-based solution, VSPs can package premium video content for all formats for delivery to content delivery networks (CDN), origin servers, and end user devices in large-scale, centralised or decentralised deployments. Additionally, the TransAct Packager encrypts content by integrating key exchanges with leading Digital Rights Management (DRM) servers, works seamlessly with firewalls, and effectively manages and compensates for packet drops and temporary bandwidth changes that are common on wireless networks.

"With a series of upcoming high profile European broadcast events, including the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, Euro 2012 and the London Olympics, the year ahead of us presents a tremendous opportunity for video service providers," said Ramin Farassat, Vice President, Product Marketing and Business Development for RGB Networks. "Consumer expectation for flexible viewing options will inevitably be high, but operators are well-positioned to meet their demands. As we will demonstrate at the IP&TV World Forum, RGB's solutions enable operators to quickly capitalise on the forthcoming opportunities - increasing their subscriber appeal and establishing new revenue streams." Executives from RGB Networks will be available on stand 236 throughout IP&TV World Forum (http://iptv-forum.com/), taking place March 20 - 22, 2012 at Olympia Exhibition Centre, London, to answer questions and provide demonstrations of the unique advantages RGB's multiscreen IP video delivery and monetization solution can offer.
