NetOne to Integrate PortaOne

Mar 12, 2012 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- NetOne International, a provider of prepaid phone cards and related services, announced a commitment to communications software company PortaOne and PortaOne's PortaSwitch VoIP billing and subscriber management platform.

"PortaSwitch is a production tested platform that covers most of our needs," said Ed Nunez, Telecom Engineer at NetOne, in a release. "It's very friendly and flexible, which meant it would not only assure us of stable, world-class call quality but also enable us to make quick changes to our infrastructure or product offerings when needed." PortaSwitch is capable of handling routing, proxying, and converged VoIP billing functions of a diversified digital services company. As the core application for VoIP telecommunications companies, PortaSwitch offers a complete feature set for calling card providers as well as VoIP wholesalers, carriers and Internet Telephony Service Providers.

To ensure its quality of service, however, NetOne took the added Step of subscribing to PortaOne's Premium PortaCare maintenance program. This offering includes unlimited 24/7 access to PortaOne dedicated contact center, direct involvement of PortaOne development professionals for custom solutions, on-site assistance, and complimentary training sessions.

"One of our hallmark service assurances is our first call guarantee," Nunez said. "If any new customer is not satisfied with the quality of their first call, we refund their prepaid phone card purchase price. We would not be able to make such a promise without the reliability of PortaSwitch." NetOne also supports its outstanding quality and competitive prices with service innovation. Currently the company is rolling out combined VoIP telephony services over Internet connectivity to its international users; to add value, NetOne is offering access via the customer's choice of PC, smartphone app or Cisco telephone adapters. According to Nunez, PortaSwitch's unique softswitch and media server capabilities make such competitive advantages possible.

"When we need to launch a new product, we can easily clone an existing product and easily modify it to fit the needs of the new product," he said. "This allows us to produce a better product at lower cost, and bring it to market much faster." PortaSwitch consists of a real-time billing system, class 4/5 SIP softswitch, and media applications that deliver converged VoIP billing and provisioning, SIP call control, unified messaging, IP Centrex and hosted IP PBX, callback management, IVRs, and conferencing.
