Pingar Researchers to Speak at Strata Making Data Work Conference

(PR Web Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) SANTA CLARA, Calif. (PRWEB) February 28, 2012 Pingar, a leading provider of unstructured data management solutions, today announced that Dr. Alyona Medelyan, chief research officer, and Dr. Anna Divoli, senior software researcher, will present at the O’Reilly Strata Making Data Work Conference at 1:30 p.m. Thursday March 1, 2012. Their session, Mining Unstructured Data: Practical Applications, presents three examples of how APIs can be used to extend existing systems’ abilities to solve common data challenges in legal, forensic auditing and healthcare industries.

Dr. Medelyan says “Managing unstructured data is of increasing strategic importance in information rich industries such as government, healthcare, financial services and pharmaceuticals. Businesses that need to search, analyze & explore their data efficiently require automated text analytics tools that allow them to extract entities, keywords and sentiment, or automatically summarize, sanitize and redact masses of text data.” The Pingar API offers such text analytics tools. They can be used to instantly apply metadata to documents, detect interesting dependencies and changes in data, auto-populate databases with structured content and automate many other time-consuming tasks. Pingar is also planning to release a product for automated creation of business taxonomies after the completion of research already in progress.

“At Pingar we are focusing on practical applications of text analytics and text mining. The stories that we will cover during our session include real-world problems that our customers are currently facing. We will talk about innovative ways of addressing these problems that utilize the modern technology and save costs.” KMWorld magazine recently listed Pingar on their 100 Companies that Matter in Knowledge Management list for 2012 citing commitment to ongoing research and innovation as a key factor in the decision.

Pingar is exhibiting at the Strata Making Data Work conference in booth 814.
