New Free iPhone App from Callvine® Delivers Crystal Clear HD Voice Conferencing - Callvine Makes Meetings Easy, More Efficient through Superior Sound, Live Call Controls

(PR Web Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Austin, TX (PRWEB) February 21, 2012 iPhone users can now enjoy crystal clear, high-definition audio conferencing and superior call control with Callvine’s new free HD Voice Conferencing app and service that’s easy to use, flexible, and dependable. The Austin-based service provider’s groundbreaking app delivers HD Voice over WiFi together with comprehensive business-class features based on TurboBridge’s proven conferencing platform.

“With the increased use of mobile phones on conference calls, sound quality has truly taken a beating, making many calls unintelligible and inefficient,” says Rudy Prince, Callvine’s CEO/Founder. “Now wherever there is good quality WiFi, iPhone users can conference with natural and vibrant sound, conveying more of the subtleties of the human voice. Within buildings and homes, WiFi connections also avoid the annoyance of dropped calls while eliminating the use of mobile minutes and international dialing charges.” “Today, high-definition audio conferencing is enjoyed in many conference rooms through VoIP conference phones,” adds Prince. “Utilizing TurboBridge’s HD conferencing technology – already being used by communications industry leaders such as Broadvox® and LogMeIn® – we’re able to bring unparalleled HD audio quality, live conference controls, and free HD recordings to the iPhone. There’s also less wasted time by synchronizing meeting start times with push alerts while the conference host can further manage call quality by instantly muting noisy connections from the app’s dashboard.” Industry leaders recognize Callvine’s advancement in teleconferencing. Steve Davis, Sr. VP Technology & Operations at HomeAway® adds, “At HomeAway, we've always found high-definition audio makes our meetings much more productive and efficient and we became an early customer of TurboBridge. With Callvine bringing this technology and HD Voice to the iPhone, the superior sound quality is no longer limited to conference rooms but can be used from anywhere." Ken Ford, former CEO of Global Conference PartnersTM, parent of FreeConference.com, states, “By bringing mobility and HD Voice to iPhones, Callvine represents the next generation of free conferencing. While there are many iPhone business apps available, Callvine fills a unique void in the conferencing market through its ease-of-use, the combination of clear HD Voice with traditional telephone dial-ins, and live call controls.” To support its HD Voice services, Callvine implemented the industry-standard G722.1 wideband codec licensed from Polycom®, which doubles the frequency range the ear receives. As Polycom describes HD Voice, it is similar to “switching from AM radio to CD-quality audio.” The codec is also highly efficient, using approximately the same amount of data as a Skype or Viber call. Callvine’s service also supports HD Voice from conference phones – tying together high-definition audio from iPhones to conference rooms – by connecting VoIP phones to @sip.callvine.com.

The Callvine app and service is free for up to 10 participants on a conference call and up to four hours of conferencing each month. Group texting and creating and managing groups is always free and simplified through the use of the iPhone’s Messages app – keeping all texts and replies in one location. In-App upgrades will be offered later this quarter (Q1 2012) for increased numbers of conference participants and additional usage.

Callvine was formed in 2011, focusing on mobile unified communications beginning with advanced conferencing services. CEO Prince is a veteran entrepreneur and technology executive who founded eFax.com and served as its CEO for 12 years, growing the company to become the undisputed leader in Internet faxing. He has also led companies in voice processing technologies, Linux-based mobile software, WiFi services, and retail shopping assistants.

Callvine’s Advisory Board includes Steve Davis, Sr. VP Technology & Operations at HomeAway, Ken Ford, former CEO of Global Conference Partners (the company behind freeconference.com), and Alec Robinson, CEO/Co-founder of MobiTech 3000, creator of the leading iPhone scanner app, JotNot.

Callvine’s conferencing partner, TurboBridge, is an enhanced information provider owned and operated by Advanced Communications Solutions, which was founded in 2007. TurboBridge previously announced licensing its conferencing platform to Broadvox, a worldwide leader in providing integrated managed VoIP services and hosted Unified Communications to SMB, Enterprise, and carrier customers. Additionally, LogMeIn uses TurboBridge for the audio conferencing portion of their join.me service offering.

Callvine, iPhone, TurboBridge, HomeAway, Polycom, JotNot, Broadvox, LogMeIn, join.me, Skype and Viber are trademarks or registered trademarks of their respective owners in the United States and other countries.
