Skycasters Partners with Ka You Communications on IPReady

AKRON, Ohio, Jan. 26, 2012 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Skycasters, an industry leader in broadband satellite Internet solutions, is pleased to announce they have partnered with Ka You Communications on a turnkey satellite communications solution for EAS CAP compliance. Named IPReady, this solution provides the vital, secure Internet link operators need at transmitter location. Because the connection is satellite-based, it can be established independent of terrestrial lines and is immune to the vulnerabilities of landlines.

The FCC has mandated that all radio stations adopt a new Emergency Alert System/Common Alerting Protocol (EAS CAP) which requires that transmitter sites throughout the United States are connected to the IPAWS (Integrated Public Alert and Warning System) database via an Internet connection. A reliable Internet link with a static IP address, IPReady is ideal for the many transmitter sites throughout the U.S. located in remote areas (such as on top of mountains or in valleys).

The new deadline for all radio stations to adopt EAS CAP is June 30, 2012.
