Storytelling's Next Chapter: Software Automatically Turns Stories into Movies

Scottsdale, Arizona, Nov 15, 2011 (PRWeb.com via COMTEX) -- Move over Hollywood! Soon you will be able to turn written stories into animated movies - automatically and on-demand. Text in Motion(TM), a new product created by Mercury Innovative(R) of Scottsdale, Arizona, allows you to write or load a story or poem and watch an animated audio-visual interpretation in real-time. Users can then export and share their creations with friends and enthusiasts. The web-based application is due for release in early-2012.

"Kids love it! We piloted Text in Motion(TM) with children and they couldn't get enough. They wanted to see all their favorite animals in action, and really interacted with their stories," says Peter J. Wegner, CEO and President of Mercury Innovative(R) and the product's co-inventor. "Text in Motion(TM) brings excitement and involvement back to writing." Mercury Innovative(R) will demonstrate Text in Motion(TM) in early 2012 at the Arizona SciTech Festival before releasing the product to the general public. A character named Tim, a boy who loves to write and use his imagination, will represent the software to young audiences. Tim's story and character will be revealed at the product release.

"Children today are so immersed in technology that we need new ways to get them excited about writing and storytelling," says Wegner. "The animations are enjoyable to watch, and resemble a diorama with backdrops, fluid movements, and sounds. Even serious grown-ups find their inner-child when they try it!" A more customizable version of Text in Motion(TM) will be later released for advanced users wishing to automatically animate screenplays and whole books. A speech recognition tool add-on will also allow users to read their stories out-loud as the program visualizes them.

"Automatic story-to-movie-creation is the next step in storytelling. Processor speeds and natural language processing capabilities are just reaching the point where this kind of product is possible. We are now at that point and my team is thrilled to be involved with Text in Motion(TM)," adds Wegner.
