Path connects with Apliman of Lebanon [Islamic Globe, The (UAE)]

(Islamic Globe, The (UAE) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Path Solutions, the Kuwait-based Islamic banking software provider, is teaming up with Beirut-based telecommunications solutions provider Apliman Technologies to build on PS' mobile banking capabilities and integrate AT's phone banking services for banks' customer relationship management. Dourria Mehyo, PS' Vice President for Product Management told The Islamic Globe website that new mobile functionalities and services will be released gradually following the partnership agreement. PS provides software to a slew of IFIs worldwide including Maldives Islamic Bank, Al Baraka Bank, and BankIslami Pakistan. Competition within the technology solutions sector is heating up. Mehyo said: "Banks all over the world [are involved in a] race for technology and invest millions of dollars in various [IT] solutions to literally change the face of their business and expand market coverage." The PS-Apliman partnership follows news of China's Huawei acquiring the telecoms division of PS' competitor International Turnkey Solutions last month.
