American Law Institute Taps ALI-ABA Knowledge Portal as Member Benefit

PHILADELPHIA --(Business Wire)--

American Law Institute-American Bar Association (ALI-ABA), the first national provider of Continuing Legal Education (CLE) and the industry leader in professional development for over 60 years, announced today that the American Law Institute (ALI) will offer its 4,300 members a unique online platform for CLE and legal research through the ALI-ABA Knowledge Portal. ALI-ABA's premium quality content is now available on demand to the judges, practitioners and scholars who help the American Law Institute produce the Restatements of Law, the UCC, the Model Penal Code and Principles of Law.

"We are pleased to offer our distinguished members, who contribute their time and expertise to our law reform work, this added benefit," said ALI Deputy Director Stephanie Middleton. "This will provide them with easy access to the best seminars and publications and the finest faculty in continuing legal education. The program topics range from legal skills to new legislation to the latest developments in the courts."

The ALI-ABA Knowledge Portal is a subscription-based, online legal content and education resource that provides lega professionals with an affordable tool to access and complete CLE requirements and conduct secondary research. Developed in response to feedback from law firms and legal departments, the Knowledge Portal offers an array of high quality content through traditional and leading-edge delivery methods.

Through the Knowledge Portal, ALI members will receive access to ALI-ABA's on-demand video programs, on-demand audio/MP3 downloads and online course materials, articles and forms that have been uploaded on or after January 1, 2009. ALI members can also obtain CLE credits from ALI-ABA for viewing or listening to these programs.

The American Law Institute is the leading independent organization in the United States producing scholarly work to clarify, modernize, and otherwise improve the law. The Institute (made up of over 4,300 lawyers, judges and law professors of the highest qualifications) drafts, discusses, revises and publishes Restatements of the Law, model statutes and principles of law that are enormously influential in the courts and legislatures, as well as in legal scholarship and education.
