BioMedix Vascular Solutions, Inc. Invited to Participate in the California P.A.D. Task Force Committee

SACRAMENTO, Calif., Feb 04, 2010 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- BioMedix Vascular Solutions, Inc. announced today that John Romans, CEO and Meg Heim, RN, Vice President of Marketing have been invited to participate as members of the P.A.D. Task Force Committee on behalf of the Governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger, The California Podiatric Medical Association and the California Department of Chronic Disease and Injury Prevention (CDPH). The committee will meet today, February 4th, 2010 in the California State Capitol, Governors conference room.

The meeting will be led by Dr. Michael R. Jaff, P.A.D. Task Force Chairman and Moderator, Associate Professor of Medicine, Harvard Medical School, Medical Director, Vascular Center, Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, Massachusetts and comprised of 15 respected medical scholars. The goal of the Committee is to outline a path of preventative wellness including a collaborative care approach that will support the early identification and treatment of P.A.D., leading to decreased cost and better outcomes for the people of California. The Governor's office and the Committee are dedicated to understanding the impact of P.A.D. on the people within the state of California, build awareness of this highly under diagnosed disease through a collaborative care model supported by a dedicated team including Podiatric Physicians, Primary Care Physicians and Vascular Specialists.

Additionally, a Committee goal will be to generate a position paper centered on recommendation guidelines for statewide initiation of P.A.D. awareness and surveillance of at risk patients to be published in the next year.
