(Associated Press Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Exec: Obama dinner crashers shopping interviewNEW YORK (AP) _ The couple who crashed President Barack Obama's first state dinner are peddling their story to broadcast networks for hundreds of thousands of dollars, a television executive says. The executive, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the network does not publicly discuss bookings, told The Associated Press that representatives for Michaele and Tareq Salahi contacted networks to urge them to "get their bids in" for an interview. The executive said the Virginia couple was looking for a payment in the mid-six figures range.

For stars, high-tech gaffes hard to hideCHICAGO (AP) _ So, you fail to take a deep breath and to count to 10 _ and you post something you probably shouldn't on Twitter or Facebook, or somewhere else online. Hopefully, it blows over without doing too much damage. But what if you're famous and have thousands, if not millions of virtual followers? Senators: Take action against White House crashersWASHINGTON (AP) _ Two senators say authorities ought to pursue criminal charges against the Virginia couple who crashed last week's state dinner at the White House. Democrat Evan Bayh of Indiana and Republican Jon Kyl of Arizona say such behavior should be strongly discouraged.

E-mail and a view: Polanski heads for house arrestGSTAAD, Switzerland (AP) _ Roman Polanski is expected to trade the confines of a Swiss jail this week for house arrest in a luxury chalet with a view of the Alps, where he will a Swiss decision whether to extradite him to the United States. His 1,800-square-meter (19,000-square-foot), three-story stucco and wood home on the edge of Gstaad has its own garden. He'll be allowed to host parties. A local official has said he may move to protect the film director from the press.

'Pulp Fiction' writer taken off jail furloughVENTURA, Calif. (AP) _ "Pulp Fiction" co-screenwriter Roger Avary has been removed from a prison work furlough program and locked up, authorities say. Avary was sentenced in September to a year in jail and five years probation for causing a drunken driving car crash that killed a passenger and injured Avary's wife. News reports say he has been serving his time in a work furlough program.

R&B star Chris Brown to be interviewed on '20/20'NEW YORK (AP) _ ABC says Chris Brown will appear on its "20/20" newsmagazine Dec. 11. In what's billed as an in-depth interview, the singer will discuss his assault of ex-girlfriend and recording superstar Rihanna in February. He is on probation for the beating.

Katey Sagal: Happy as the mom on 'Sons of Anarchy'NEW YORK (AP) _ Season two of the FX drama "Sons of Anarchy" is primed to end with bloody payback. It's likely to be pretty. The Sons, a fierce and fiercely close-knit motorcycle club, are set to wreak havoc on enemy forces that have cut into their outlaw livelihood and horned in on their turf (the curiously named town of Charming, Calif.).

Longtime CBS News producer Bernard Birnbaum diesNEW YORK (AP) _ CBS News producer Bernard Birnbaum, who helped shape the public's view of issues ranging from poverty to the Watergate scandal while working alongside Walter Cronkite and Charles Kuralt, has died, the network said. Birnbaum died on Thanksgiving Day at Stony Brook University Medical Center in Stony Brook, N.Y., after having a heart attack while visiting relatives nearby, CBS News said in a statement Saturday. His death had been announced on the network news broadcast Friday. He was 89.

Arabian Horse Foundation begins Swayze scholarshipDAYTON, Ohio (AP) _ The Arabian Horse Foundation has established a scholarship in honor of the late actor Patrick Swayze and his wife. Swayze and wife Lisa Neimi owned Arabian horses and competed in shows for several years. The foundation is the charitable arm of the Denver-based Arabian Horse Association.

'Avatar' video game to expand film's alien worldLOS ANGELES (AP) _ James Cameron was thinking beyond the big screen when he created the alien world of Pandora. The "Titanic" director worked in tandem with video game developer Ubisoft Montreal on the game based on his upcoming sci-fi epic "Avatar." Opening Dec. 18, the film stars Sam Worthington as a paralyzed human soldier who takes on the form of an exotic blue-skinned alien species called Na'vi on their home world Pandora, a remote paradise teaming with freaky flora and fauna.
