E-Govt, Al Moayyed in ICT deal

(TradeArabia Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Al Moayyed Computers, one of the premier ICT solution providers to businesses in the Middle East, has joined hands with the Bahrain e-Government Authority in streamlining the electronic integration of public sector in the Kingdom.

This partnership is part of the Bahrain Government's agreement with Cisco Systems to establish a world-class ICT infrastructure in the Kingdom, said a top Bahrain official.

"This groundbreaking agreement will give government departments access to best-in-class ICT solutions at competitive prices," stated Mohammed Ali Al Qaed, chief executive officer, Bahrain e-Government Authority while speaking about the Bahrain government's latest technological endeavor at the ongoing Gitex expo.

'Through this partnership with Cisco, Almoayyed Computers and local partners, we'll be able to achieve our goal of having a fully integrated public sector by creating a transparent and economical 'preferred supplier system' while reducing project turnaround time.' 'This will also allow us to proceed with our plans for infrastructure expansion while benefiting from cost and time efficiencies,' Al Qaed added.

Al Moayyed Computers and Cisco will be focusing on ensuring speed-to-market of various governments' services, better information management, and optimization of investment already made into IT infrastructure and thereby helping the government to achieve tangible value propositions and guarantee business continuity.

"We're honoured to partner with the Bahrain Government, which has become a role model for other countries in the GCC by embracing technology in a big way," said SM Hussaini, general manager, Al Moayyed Computers.

For the next three years, Al Moayyed Computers and Cisco will be closely working with the Bahrain's e-Government authority on procuring and commissioning various equipment  pertinent to routing & switching, Unified Communications, advanced security solutions, wireless technologies, IP telephony, and emerging technologies such as IPTV and video surveillance.

Such end-to-end consultancy and implementation will eventually help the various government entities to have a robust, scalable ICT infrastructure including a seamless supplier system that will not only simplify the e-tendering/procurement processes but also help them in accurate budget allocation and optimum resource utilization, he noted.

"At Gitex, we'll be presenting such success stories and reinforce the fact that IT, if customized properly, can deliver tangible benefits at the macro level," Hussaini noted.

"Sluggish market conditions are in fact a fantastic opportunity to prove that IT can indeed enhance productivity, lower cost of operations and help to do more with modest investments," he added.-TradeArabia News Service (c) 2009 Al Hilal Publishing & Marketing Group Provided by Syndigate.info an Albawaba.com company
