LifeSize Rolls Out Full HD 1080p Multipoint Conferencing Bridge

Jul 21, 2009 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- LifeSize Communications, a provider of high definition video communications, announced LifeSize Multipoint 230, the next generation high definition video communications bridge supporting up to Full HD 1080p30 multiparty conferences.

Also announced, the LifeSize Control 4.5 management platform that delivers enhanced support for multi-vendor video networks, as well as integration capabilities with system management applications, enabling HD video communications to be seamlessly integrated into the enterprise IT framework.

Utilizing the latest in DSP technology, LifeSize stated that its Multipoint 230 is an enterprise-class system enabling up to 30 sites to communicate simultaneously, via video, in True HD, 720p at 30 frames, and 15 sites to participate in Full HD, 1080p at 30 frames for natural, immersive multiparty calls. Multipoint 230 will also support increased capacity for Standard Definition systems, up to 120 SD systems at 360p, 30 frames per second.

The company said that the LifeSize 230 flexibility provides conference participants an easy-to-use interface, with new features including user-definable screen layout, while empowering the system administrator with centralized management and control of system settings and conferences.

"With the introduction of Multipoint 230 and Control 4.5, LifeSize enables companies to scale and manage the LifeSize Full HD experience throughout the enterprise." LifeSize Multipoint 230 with support for 720p30 will be available in the 3rd quarter 2009. 1080p30 and Dynamic Port Capacity support will be available as a software upgrade in the 4th quarter. LifeSize Control 4.5 software will be available for download in the 3rd quarter.
