'KPN underestimated demand for U2 ticket hotline'

Mar 17, 2009 (DMEUROPE via COMTEX) -- The disruption in 0900 paid service numbers on 13 March was caused by human error, a KPN company spokesman has said. The network operator has not allowed sufficient capacity for handling the peak in traffic and redirecting calls. On Saturday 13 March, the ticket office opened sales for the Dutch concert of rock band U2. A subsequent run on that service number made paid service numbers nationwide unreachable.
