BRIEF: Pixius expanding Internet service: E-mail this story to a friend

Mar 15, 2009 (The Hutchinson News - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- A Wichita-based high-speed Internet service is expanding its broadband coverage to Nickerson, Saxman and Willowbrook.

Pixius Communications is offering the service through a tower on Avenue V, between Plum Street and Nickerson Road.

Its product, Extend wireless broadband, is marketed locally by authorized dealers, as well as the company itself.

Area dealers include: AC&T, Newton;Business Computer Center of America, Newton; IdeaTek Systems, Buhler; NexWave Wireless, Hutchinson; and Red Hills Internet, Coldwater.

Launched in Wichita in late 2002, the company, using a network of more than 50 towers, already offers services in a number of communities in the region.

Area towns with access to the services include: Abbyville, Bentley, Benton, Buhler, Burrton, Castleton, Cheney, Coldwater, Elbing, Goessel, Halstead, Hesston, Hutchinson, Inman, Kingman, Medora, Moundridge, Mount Hope, Newton, Nickerson, Norwich, Partridge, Peabody, Pretty Prairie, Sedgwick, South Hutchinson, Spivey, Sterling, Walton and Whitewater.
