PG&E Corporation Elects Forrest E. Miller to Board of Directors

PG&E Corporation
(NYSE: PCG) today announced the election of Forrest E. Miller, 56, a senior
executive with AT&T Inc., to the holding company's Board of Directors, as well
as the Board of its subsidiary, Pacific Gas and Electric Company, which
provides utility service for 15 million people in northern and central
California.
Miller, AT&T's Group President-Corporate Strategy and Development, has
nearly 25 years of leadership experience in senior positions with the company
and its predecessors, SBC and Pacific Telesis Group. Miller's experience and
expertise include leading the planning and execution of major strategic growth
initiatives, heading AT&T's global enterprise operations in New Jersey and
local telephone operations in the Southwest, and assignments overseeing
various corporate functions including AT&T's government affairs activities.
His election to the PG&E Boards will be effective upon regulatory approval.

Miller joined AT&T in 1984. Today, he is responsible for leading corporate
strategy, merger and acquisition activities, and business development for
AT&T. In addition to the responsibilities previously described, Miller's
earlier roles at the company encompassed overseeing the operations of Southern
New England Telephone, leading the merger and acquisition activities of
Pacific Telesis' wireless business, and running Pacific Telesis' and SBC's
Yellow Pages businesses.
Miller is a trustee of Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. He has
served on the Management Board of the Graduate School of Business at Stanford,
the board of the AT&T Cotton Bowl, and as chairman of the board of the Yellow
Pages Publishers Association. He was also vice chairman of the Connecticut
Governor's Council on Economic Development and Technology.
Miller grew up in California. He is a 1975 graduate of the University of
Southern California, where he majored in accounting. He earned an M.B.A. from
the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University in 1981.
