Abaca Announces Competitive Upgrade Program for Its Industry-Leading Email Protection Gateway Appliance and ReceiverNet Service

(Marketwire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) SAN JOSE, CA, August 19 / MARKET WIRE/ --

Abaca Technology Corporation, an innovator in
email protection and messaging security, today announced a new competitive
upgrade program that allows customers to improve their email security with
Abaca's proven 99.997 percent spam catch rate while leveraging their
previous investment in a competitive appliance-based or hosted email
security solution. Eligible customers will receive a subscription credit
for up to nine months for qualifying services, as well as their choice of a
free Abaca Virtual
Email Protection Gateway or a 50 percent discount on the Abaca Email
Protection Gateway appliance.

"Abaca's new competitive upgrade program gives customers who have invested
in competitive email security solutions a smooth, cost-effective path to
the industry's only anti-spam solution that guarantees 99 percent
accuracy," said Leo
Jolicoeur, CEO of Abaca Technology Corporation. "Our program allows
them to enjoy all the benefits of Abaca's breakthrough technology now,
while continuing to realize a return on their previous investment."

Abaca's Email Protection Gateway appliance and ReceiverNet Service
comprise a revolutionary, next-generation solution that uses the receiver's
reputation to protect against email-born threats. Upon installation,
Abaca's protected users become members of the Abaca ReceiverNet Protection
Network, the industry's first intelligent anti-spam network that provides
immediate and unsurpassed zero-hour email security. This powerful
combination provides levels of accuracy 10 to 100 times better than
existing approaches, delivers unmatched messaging protection against spam,
viruses, and phishing attacks, provides immunity against future attacks,
and requires almost no system administration or tuning on the customer's
part.

"Ease of management is a major benefit of Abaca's email security solution,"
said Jolicoeur. "Customers can typically install the Abaca Email Protection
Gateway appliance and configure the ReceiverNet Service within an hour, and
then achieve up to 99.997 percent accuracy in email filtering without any
ongoing IT management. It is zero-hour security with nearly zero-system
administration, giving customers who switch to Abaca the industry's best
email protection along with significantly reduced administration overhead."

Availability

The Abaca Competitive Upgrade Program is available now to eligible
customers with qualifying email security products and services. Customers
who currently have subscriptions to qualifying competitive services will
