TelCove Announces VoIP Services Agreement With New Orleans Legal Firm Chopin Wagar Richard & Kutcher

PITTSBURGH and NEW ORLEANS, April 28 /PRNewswire/

TelCove, a leading provider of business critical telecommunications services, today announced a 3-year agreement with Chopin Wagar Richard & Kutcher, a New Orleans based legal firm, for TelCove's Network VoIP Service. Key to the agreement was TelCove's proven ability to provide full portability for the service, so that Chopin Wagar employees can use and manage the service from any location.

For a period in 2005, Chopin Wagar's business was displaced when Hurricane Katrina roared into New Orleans, forcing the firm to temporarily relocate their systems and voice services. They called on TelCove's Baton Rouge team to help them. TelCove used VoIP capabilities to maintain Chopin Wagar's existing New Orleans phone numbers -- allowing the firm to maintain contact with customers and employees and run as a virtual business during rebuilding. TelCove also supplied IP VPN and co-location services to support Chopin Wagar's Baton Rouge temporary virtual headquarters.

"Back in New Orleans, when our current PBX system started to show its age, we looked around for alternatives," said Chip Wagar, Managing Partner for Chopin Wagar Richard & Kutcher. "We went through a real-life disaster recovery lesson in how to survive as a business when a catastrophe occurs. So, foremost in our decision was the ability to work and run as a virtual business, if a similar event were to occur.

"We looked at other VoIP providers, and at replacing our PBX, but the benefits of the TelCove solution were obvious," continued Mr. Wagar. "Our absolute requirements for full service portability, and for voicemail and unified messaging for both business continuity purposes and for partners as they travel, pointed us to TelCove."

Pete Villari, TelCove's Regional Vice President, commented, "In the end, the decision for Chopin Wagar was between an IP PBX and TelCove's Network VoIP Service. We presented the benefits of the TelCove VoIP service versus an on- site IP PBX to help Chopin Wagar understand the clear superiority of our solution. From a portability, availability, reliability, manageability, and cost perspective the TelCove Network VoIP Service solution was the better choice on all the Chopin Wagar decision criteria."
