LXE's VX6, VX7, MX3X and MX7 Certified to Run Voxware's VoxBrowser(TM) Software; LXE Vehicle-Mounted and Handheld Devices and Voxware's Open, Standards-Based Software Extend the Value of Voice in the Warehouse
LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. & NORCROSS, Ga. --(Business Wire)-- March 28, 2006 -- Voxware, Inc. (NASDAQ: VOXW), a leading supplier of voice-driven logistics solutions, and LXE Inc., a manufacturer of rugged mobile computers for wireless data collection, announced that LXE's VX6, VX7, MX3X and MX7 computers have been certified to run Voxware's VoiceXML Browser, VoxBrowser(TM). The VX6 and VX7 are the first voice-enabled, vehicle-mounted computers to be used in voice-driven logistics applications, and the MX3X and MX7 are next-generation, dual-use, handheld computers. Voxware has certified the VX6, VX7, MX3X and MX7 to run VoxBrowser software for demanding voice applications in logistics across the full range of warehouse environments.
"Leveraging the open, standards-based VoxBrowser will be a tremendous benefit to our customers and partners," said Jim Childress, president and general manager of LXE. "Our customers will no longer be locked into expensive, proprietary voice hardware. They can now choose the device that best aligns with their applications. LXE's broad voice-enabled product line, combined with industry leading global service and support infrastructure, provides customers maximum flexibility with no compromises."
Voxware CEO Tom Drury said, "Our partnership with LXE confirms that our software-based approach will allow many more voice-enabled solutions to be developed. Coupled with our recently announced VoiceLogistics Pro(TM) software, more logistics solution providers will be able to create and adapt warehouse voice solutions with unprecedented ease and flexibility, thereby expanding the number of voice solutions using the growing list of devices enabled by VoxBrowser."
Childress noted, "VoxBrowser makes it simple for our customers to run both their voice logistics applications and their traditional barcode scanning applications on the same computer. This feature will reduce a customer's IT support and operator training costs and, more importantly, reduces the number of terminals needed to support their warehouse."
Drury added, "VoxBrowser is a huge breakthrough for the industry, and it continues to gain momentum and provide end users and their solution providers with greatly expanded alternatives in the types and functionality of mobile computing devices they use for their warehouse applications. Voxware is rapidly becoming the de facto standard platform for voice-enabling wireless computers used in the warehouse, because we are the only vendor offering open, standards-based software available for any voice-compatible Windows CE-based mobile logistics computer."
