Teranex Introduces 1RU HDTV Format Converter with a Focus on Versatility and Ease of Use

ORLANDO, Fla. --(Business Wire)-- March 7, 2006 -- Teranex, a Division of Silicon Optix and leader in providing high performance video processing solutions to the broadcast and post-production market, today announced they will be showing a new hardware platform at the 2006 NAB Convention in Las Vegas. The new platform, called the Teranex 1RU, is a two channel, low profile DTV format converter that brings a new level of ease of use to the broadcast and production market. Packed with a large array of audio and video I/O's this utility converter/HD frame synchronizer was designed to ingest any feed, synchronize it, and convert it to the desired SD and/or HD output.

The Teranex 1RU was designed in close coordination with leading broadcasters to ensure efficient and reliable operation. True to Teranex's renowned ease of use, the 1RU provides "at a glance" status indication of the processing and provides access to all major functions with no more than two button presses. The 1RU front panel consists of an array of color-coded buttons and a color LCD screen controller which doubles as a picture monitor. The front panel is also removable for remote operation.
