Interactive Intelligence Bags TMC Labs' Unified Communications Innovation Award

Indianapolis-based provider of unified business communications solutions for contact center automation, enterprise IP telephony, and business process automation Interactive Intelligence Inc. has announced that it has been honored by TMC (News - Alert) Labs with its Unified Communications Innovation Award.

The award recognizes Interactive Intelligence for its communications-based process automation product, Interaction Process Automation (IPA). IPA offers an efficient method for automating core business processes which in turn leads to quantifiable return on investment for unified communications. The solution is a much more effective alternative to process management suites and to “tool-kits” that simply embed communications into applications.

Interactive Intelligence (News - Alert) has taken a truly innovative approach to business process automation by using its unified IP communications platform to capture, prioritize, route, escalate and track work through each step of a business process,” said TMC Labs chief technical officer and executive technology editor, Tom Keating (News - Alert). “As a result, IPA gives customers the ability to automate and track both existing and entirely new business processes -- from start to finish -- thus providing significant and measurable ROI.”

The IPA has been designed for mid-size and large organizations across all industries seeking to automate multi-step, people-centric business processes to increase process efficiency and reduce operational costs.

“In researching existing BPA solutions we found customers lacked a good choice between the traditionally costly and complex suites, and the tool-kits that can trigger notifications and communications but rely on other applications to perform automation,” said Interactive Intelligence founder and CEO, Dr. Donald Brown (News - Alert). “So we created IPA using our existing communications platform to give customers everything they need for a cost-effective and truly complete solution – from a graphical authoring interface and service-oriented architecture, to monitoring and reporting capabilities.”

TMC Labs Innovation Awards has been recognizing innovation in the field of unified communications for the past eleven years.

In a recent article, TMCnet reported that Interactive Intelligence has launched the IPA solution in New Zealand.
