Demandware Launches Pre-built Ecommerce Integrations

On-demand ecommerce solutions provider Demandware has launched pre-built, no cost ecommerce integrations.

The company has announced Demandware LINK, which enables both its clients and developers to access an extensive library of integrations between more than 25 popular third-party technologies and the Demandware eCommerce Platform.

Designed to eliminate the integration hurdles that challenge retailers when they adopt ecommerce technologies, DemandwareLINK has been created on the belief that the cost and complexity of integrating ecommerce applications should be assumed by ecommerce vendors and not retailers.

With Demandware LINK integrations, Demandware customers have an option to choose no cost, pre-built product integrations, which are not available from any other ecommerce platform provider.

These integrations span a broad range of technologies, and the initial Demandware LINK partner community comprises established players such as Adgregate Markets, Adobe Scene7 and many more.

This community will keep on growing as new partners are added and product integrations are announced. According to a release, all LINK integrations developed by these partners are now available or under development.

Those interested in accessing the integrations and accompanying documentation at no cost can do so by visiting the website marketplace.demandware.com.

Paul Zaengle, senior director of ecommerce at Columbia Sportswear noted the expensive and time-consuming process of integration that can become a barrier to the adoption of available technologies.

He sees huge value in the Demandware LINK program because it provides retailers such as Columbia Sportswear with more technology choices for driving innovative customer experiences and profitability.

"We have already leveraged the PayPal (News - Alert) Express Checkout integration to Demandware."

Business costs can often be prohibitive and for online retailers, application integration can be as much as 50 percent of the overall cost and time of an ecommerce implementation.

Demandware LINK provides pre-built integrations to not only simplify the implementation process but also accelerate the adoption of new technologies.

The company claims that a Demandware LINK pre-built integration can reduce the typical length of time required for the implementation of a credit card authorization payment system by up to 92 percent.

"It's not right that retailers should have to foot a services bill just to make two technologies talk to each other," said Jamus Driscoll, vice president of marketing at Demandware. "We think it's high time that vendors assume this responsibility and deliver pre-built, supported integrations to retailers. Through Demandware LINK and our ongoing partnerships with leading third-party providers, we're making the pain of integration a thing of the past.'
