Sipgate Launches New Business Phone Service

San Francisco-based Sipgate has reportedly introduced the new “Team Edition” telephony service that offers a new approach to provide phone and fax facilities to the team and also helping small and mid-size companies to move their corporate phone service to the cloud.

Company officials said the new service offers each employee with online access to their inbox containing phone logs, faxes, recordings and voicemail messages. It includes features such as forwards, labels and comments they claim will help the co-workers to be more productive and attentive. It also allows employees to return calls at the click of a button, or sign and send faxes through a WYSIWYG interface on the company letterhead. Functions such as call forwarding, call recording, and three-way calling can be activated with a single click on the interface, making features previously hidden in phone systems accessible for employees and, consequently, businesses more productive.

“Our aim is to make telephone service as easy to use as email,” said Thilo Salmon, CEO of Sipgate. “If you can use email, you now know enough to run your company’s corporate telephony system. We think this service will resonate particularly well with entrepreneurial companies and firms that have already realized the benefits from other cloud-based services like hosted CRM or email.”

Sipgate embraces the globally-recognized SIP standard so it works with any SIP-compliant phone, company officials said. It has an interface similar to Web-based email and is simple, fast and intuitive to use. Employees can browse their inbox and outbox for a complete history of voicemail messages, calls, recordings and faxes.

There is no limit to the number of phone numbers that can be added to the service. In addition, employees in the organization can be added or remove as business is evolving. Users have an option to even transfer calls or conference in team members in different locations free of charge.

Company officials claim this new system has been designed to be simple for administrators to set up and maintain, cutting down the time, effort and cost of traditional telephony systems.
