BGL Group Chooses Chloride Systems to Maintain Uninterrupted Customer Service

Chloride, a supplier of Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems and services has announced that BGL Group is now among its customers and is utilizing a variety of their three-phase 80-NET (News - Alert) and 70-NET UPS systems in its customer services department.
BGL Group, one of the U.K.'s largest insurance companies, is also monitoring the performance and health of its UPS systems through Chloride's unique LIFE.net monitoring system.

BGL Group selected the 80-NET UPS system from Chloride as it draws 20 percent less input current than a standard UPS system while ensuring uptime and reliability of customer services. Other benefits of choosing the Chloride 80-NET system include reduced switchgear ratings and subsequent cable sizes as well as minimized generator ratings while also maximizing usable power from the power supply.

Mark Cottingham, Business Services Project Manager at the BGL Group said, "By providing a range of contact centres throughout the UK we are able to effectively deal with any customer queries, so it was absolutely vital that our computer services have 24 hour operability and are able to keep going in the case of a power outage."

Cottingham emphasized that the BGL Group aimed to provide the best IT infrastructure available for their helpdesk operations. As part of this plan, the company deployed the Chloride’s LIFE.net monitoring service to ensure excellent infrastructure and well maintained systems with the added benefit of reducing the operational costs of the UPS systems.

Chloride's LIFE.net is a remote monitoring system that provides businesses with an early warning system for any alarm condition or out-of-tolerance status.

"LIFE.net is designed to ensure that our customers maximize the availability and uptime of their systems, whilst minimizing the risk of UPS system failures," said Chloride's Technical Support Manager, Rob Tanzer.  The system proactively maintains and monitors UPS systems in order to ensure efficiency and cost effectiveness by keeping the number of engineer visits to a minimum.
