V3 Systems Rolls-Out StratoSphere Series Encompassing Five Advanced VDI Appliances

Virtualization desktop company V3 Systems announced the launch of StratoSphere, a series of five advanced VDI appliances that will provide businesses with virtual machines that are faster than native desktops.

The new StratoSphere Series encompasses five pre-configured, drop-in appliances that support between 50-400 virtual desktops on a single appliance. These VDI device appliances can deliver unsurpassed virtual desktop performance at significantly lower up-front costs as well as can lower ongoing costs considerably.

According to V3 Systems, it was able to achieve high speed performance of VDI device through a proprietary optimized software layer called V3OL, which works in conjunction with the virtual machine hypervisor to optimize the hardware platform for the fastest possible virtual desktop experience.

With the help of V3OL, it has revolutionized the speed, the ease, the deployment and even the size of datacenter required for virtual desktop infrastructure, said officials with V3 Systems in a press release.

Apart from reducing energy costs associated with traditional desktops, the new StratoSphere series eliminates racks of servers, network, and storage devices that are required to integrate, deploy and manage a VDI environment.

According to V3 Systems, Virtual desktops delivered via StratoSphere use a small fraction of the power consumed by traditional VDI implementations. With the help of StratoSphere, companies can stream virtual machines to computers, thin clients as well as mobile devices like tablets and smartphones.

Bookman added, "Today we are changing the paradigm with the introduction of StratoSphere appliances. Through our V3OL, we are able to achieve speeds that exceed native desktop speeds for virtual machines, while also reducing the size of a company's data center and the time of deployment. What used to take hours, takes minutes."
