As a long-time journalist, Murli Menon has been covering the information technology sector since 1983. He has previously worked at Dataquest magazine, one of India's leading IT publications, and later became the Editor of Computers & Communications in 1987.

In 1995, Murli headed the IT Publishing Group at a company called Media Transasia India Pvt. Ltd. in the capacity of Publishing Director. He helped launch PC World, Computerworld and Communications World in collaboration with IDG Gorup of the U.S.

Murli is now an independent freelance writer.
