Entel PCS Picks Intec's InterconnecT Suite of BSS Solutions

Intec, a provider of business support systems or BSS solutions, announced the selection and implementation of its InterconnecT settlement suite of products by Entel PCS.


Entel PCS is a large mobile services provider based in Chile which will be able to streamline its operational processes across its business using InterconnecT. This is expected to reduce time to market and give it more visibility and control resulting in greater revenues. Entel PCS will leverage the solution’s availability on low-cost commodity hardware to reduce cost of its operations.

Robinson Luengo, Entel Financial and Interconnection Manager said, “The Intec solution brings us a reliable and flexible system for expanding our operations and easily addressing the challenges of the forthcoming number portability requirements. Intec offers a proven solution that enables us to bridge our interconnection operations with other areas of our business.”

“Intec understands the challenges and requirements for business growth and maximizing revenues from interconnect agreements as evidenced by similar implementations throughout Latin America,” Luengo added.

Entel PCS provides mobile communications services throughout Chile serving about 38 percent of the market. The selection of Intec’s solution, which includes InterconnecT Prep for EDR pre-processing, Automated Reconciliation Manager and Financial Manager besides the InterconnecT settlement core is expected to allow the wireless operator to compete more effectively in the highly competitive market.

Ian Watterson, Intec VP Americas said, “With the Intec InterconnecT suite Entel PCS is able to substantially reduce its manual processes, speed its reconciliation with partners for faster time to revenue, and easily configure new partner agreements for enhanced service offerings.”

According to Watterson, Entel will be able to view its interconnect business and value-added services in a holistic fashion through reporting that is made possible by more visibility and control that enables better business decisions. Entel PCS will help Intec’s Chilean and regional customer base and business to grow fast, Watterson pointed out.

Intec’s BSS or Business Support Systems solutions are used by more than 60 telecom operators across the globe. Intec’s list of customers include such names like AT&T, Aircel, Antel, Bharti, Cable & Wireless, China Unicom, Deutsche Telekom, T-Mobile, Vodafone, Virgin Mobile and many others.
