PLUS Uses Bundled Product Offering from Comverse to Launch its Network in Albania

June 08, 2010

By using a bundled product offering from Comverse, PLUS, Albania's newest mobile network operator, is all set to launch its network in Albania later this year.

Value-Added Services, such as text messaging and call completion, with the help of bundled product offering from Comverse are monetized efficiently by Comverse's flagship Business Support System product.

Several telecom operators in Western Europe and Southeast Asia, during the last year, have decided to launch mobile networks with Comverse's joint offering, which includes Comverse ONE Billing & Active Customer Management and the Comverse HUB portfolio of VAS products.

For these green field operators, including PLUS, for gaining market penetration, time to market and quality of service are critical.

'Comverse ONE was chosen due to Comverse's complete and fully-integrated solution that would allow us to get to market quickly and fulfill our commercial goals,' Moni Buchnik, CEO at PLUS, said.

PLUS, through Comverse ONE will be allowed to take a unified approach to BSS convergence, handling all prepaid and postpaid customers across all lines of business. Also, PLUS will be able to enhance its customer experience and drive sales, via Comverse ONE's Customer Relationship Management features, such as sales force automation, campaign management and self service.

'Comverse's bundled approach, based on two interoperable platforms, meets a key requirement by minimizing integration points and customization efforts,' said Andrzej Czerczak, CTO at PLUS.

To improve efficiency, significantly reduce total cost of ownership, and accelerate time to market the integration between Comverse ONE and Comverse HUB takes full advantage of all synergies between BSS and VAS systems.

Comverse, at PLUS, will deploy its SMS solution and Call Completion suite.

'As the newest mobile operator in the country, PLUS requires a BSS solution that unifies all customer information to enable immediate action on that information for faster customer acquisition, better retention and improved satisfaction,' Dror Bin, President of Global Sales at Comverse, the world's leading supplier of software and systems enabling value-added messaging and content services, converged billing and active customer management, and IP communications, said.

'At the same time, our bundled approach simplifies the deployment process, removing risk and allowing PLUS to focus on its business goals -- namely, creating and launching compelling services,' Bin said. 'This is the long-term approach to success that today's operator needs to capture and maintain market share.'

In related news, Comverse has announced that its Netcentrex Hosted IP communications facility in France is now fully operational.
