Mike's Express Carwash Uses Ultimate Software's UltiPro through SaaS

Ultimate Software, a provider of unified, end-to-end human capital management (HCM) software as a service (SaaS (News - Alert)) solutions, has announced that Mike's Express Carwash has freed its IT team from focusing on HRMS responsibilities, improved its business continuity plan, and prepared for growth using UltiPro delivered via SaaS.

Prior to using UltiPro, the HR/payroll team at Mike’s Express were worried as their previous HRMS provider was not staying up-to-date with the latest HCM functionality and technology. Additionally, company officials said that Mike’s internal IT team also was burdened with maintaining the solution and installing updates.

“Before UltiPro, our IT staff was in a difficult position. Their job is not human resources, but it became their priority when something went wrong or when the system needed attention,” said Paula Raybould, HR/payroll manager at Mike's Express Carwash.

In May 2008, the company selected UltiPro. According to company officials, they are now experiencing a range of HCM benefits and overall business improvements with UltiPro’s SaaS delivery.

Ultimate’s SaaS is both flexible and reliable, and Ultimate completes the updates and system maintenance on the weekends, which is very convenient for the company, Raybould said.

Since Ultimate houses the data for its SaaS customers in a secure center, businesses like Mike's Express are assured that their HR/payroll systems will stay up and running despite any local interruptions in power or other unexpected events at their own facilities, said Ultimate Software officials.

“One day last year, we lost electricity at our main building. Our contingency plan with UltiPro's SaaS ensured that we were ready to process our payroll off-site. If our data was stored on-site, as it was before UltiPro, it would have been not possible to avoid disruption to our business during a power failure,” Raybould said.

Additionally, Mike's Express Carwash also has introduced UltiPro’s Web portal to improve communication and to give all employees access to their HR/payroll information from home or office.

“Ultimate's end-to-end HCM SaaS solution provides a cost-effective way for businesses to take full advantage of sophisticated HR, payroll, and talent management functionality that is easy to deploy, easy to use, and easy to maintain,” said Greg Swick, chief sales officer at Ultimate Software.
