arvato Partners with Microsoft for Global Business Process Outsourcing

arvato AG, a media and communication services provider, has reportedly entered into a global business process outsourcing partnership with Microsoft.

The five-year agreement starts this month. arvato will manage services for Microsoft (News - Alert) Dynamics’ (formerly known as Microsoft Business Solutions) Commercial Operations, Services and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) divisions.

Microsoft Dynamics is a line of familiar, adaptable enterprise resource planning (ERP) and customer relationship management (CRM) solutions designed to meet almost any business need. The solution automates and streamlines financial, customer relationship, and supply chain processes. Microsoft Dynamics looks and works like widely-used Microsoft software products.

According to the agreement, Microsoft will consolidate operational activities for several key business lines previously handled by multiple suppliers with one vendor. From its operations based in Dublin, Singapore, Reno (Nevada), Fargo (North Dakota), Manila and Buenos Aires, arvato will support this business globally.

In a release, Matthias Mierisch, head of arvato's Global BPO Unit for Microsoft and CEO of arvato UK & Ireland, said: “Over the last 15 years, arvato has been successfully delivering against Microsoft's growth objectives. This agreement is testament to the hard work and dedication of our employees over this time and the quality of service we provide every day to some of the world's most trusted brands.”

To handle operations including software licensing and distribution, partner reward schemes, day-to-day invoice processes for Microsoft distributors, technology deployment, technical support and customer services, the teams will be using the latest BPM (Business Process Mapping), CRM and data management technology. arvato will look to reduce costs by developing an enhanced managed services model.

Recently, French pharmaceuticals manufacturer Genopharm has selected arvato services healthcare to handle both warehousing and distribution of its entire product range. From its national distribution centres in the UK and Benelux, arvato services healthcare will deliver Genopharm products to hospitals across the UK, France, Belgium and Germany within 24 hours – a roll-out to further countries across Europe is planned over the next three years.
