MTN Nigeria Deploys Acision Messaging Solution



MTN Nigeria, a mobile operator in Nigeria, reportedly has deployed Acision SMSC to significantly boost SMS traffic in the region.
 
Acision (News - Alert) officials said that MTN Nigeria has been working with the company for the past eight years and recently upgraded to Acision's next generation messaging infrastructure to deliver rock solid messaging service quality, as well as extend the reach of its direct messaging capability.
 
Company officials said that the Acision messaging infrastructure empowers MTN (News - Alert) to provide high quality text messaging services to its customers competently handle high volume traffic during peak times and have greater control over third-party content.
Acision provisions its messaging solutions with its African based partner, TechFuture Limited, which supports Acision's presence across this continent.

"Messaging is the main form of mobile communication in Nigeria and the average use of SMS per subscriber is quadrupling year on year, so it is essential that we have a world-class infrastructure to meet our customers SMS demands," said Akinwale Goodluck, corporate services executive at MTN Nigeria, in a statement.
 
Goodluck said that the company selected Acision's messaging solutions because of its renowned reputation in this space and the power and flexibility of its platform to deliver innovative messaging services as the company’s market expands. He said that with Acision working with Techfuture the company also has guaranteed assurance that it will have local technical support at all times.
 
The partnership also supports the company’s corporate social responsibility initiative of building out the range of technical skills for future African generations, something that is very close to the management’s hearts, Goodluck said.
 
“With African mobile communications set to boom, Acision has partnered with companies like Techfuture to heighten our presence in the region and provide increased support to our valued customers such as MTN. We expect this will be a very fruitful relationship," said Sherif Hamoudah, senior vice president and general manager for Middle East, Africa and Pakistan, Acision, in a statement.
 
Acision is a messaging company, providing communication solutions for over 300 network operators and service providers globally.
 
TechFuture Limited is a provider of telecom solutions in the African market working with partners like Acision and providing system integration and local technical support services to service providers and mobile operators.
