Interactive Intelligence, Ronco Ink Reseller Agreement

By Susan J. Campbell, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Days after launching its software-based business process automation product, Interactive Intelligence is announcing that it’s signed a so-called “Elite Partner” reseller agreement with Ronco Communications & Electronics that grants authorization to Ronco to sell, deploy and support Indianapolis-based InIn’s unified IP business communications solutions.

A 44-year-old company, Ronco is a privately owned provider of technology solutions for voice, data, audio and video. With a strong vertical emphasis on the healthcare, education and contact center industries, Ronco serves approximately 6,000 customers throughout the U.S. and employs more than 340 people in 17 offices.

“Ronco’s proven experience and demonstrated commitment – already boasting more than a dozen Interactive Intelligence (News - Alert)-certified engineers – ensures our joint customers will get a comprehensive technology solution that maps to their business strategy, along with dependable, ongoing support,” said Interactive Intelligence vice president of sales, Paul Weber, in a statement.

According to John Wrona, Ronco’s executive vice president of sales and marketing, after an in-depth evaluation of the Interactive Intelligence product line, the company found that it offered the kind of unique architecture that would give customers maximum value through reduced costs and increased operational efficiencies.

“This value comes from the Interactive Intelligence open, software-based ‘all-in-one’ platform, which minimizes integration requirements and simplifies administration, management and customization,” Wrona said.

The all-in-one IP communications software suite was first introduced by Interactive Intelligence in 1997 and has grown in popularity since that time. As a standards-based, single-platform architecture with built-in multichannel processing, it was designed to eliminate the cost and complexity introduced by multi-point products.

This suite offers applications suitable for mid-size to large contact centers and enterprises, providing the capabilities necessary to communicate with customers on all channels with the same level of personal attention as a small contact center.

Functionality includes SIP-based switching, multichannel routing and queuing, outbound/blended dialing, presence management, multichannel quality monitoring, workforce management, interactive voice response, unified messaging, Web self-service, e-mail response and knowledge management, and communications-based process automation.

Under the new strategic agreement, both Interactive Intelligence and Ronco will benefit from the extended reach this relationship will provide. In addition, Ronco customers will have access to the multi-faceted applications within the IP contact center suite that Interactive Intelligence delivers.

As the competitive landscape continues to intensify for contact centers, integrated solutions that deliver streamlined interactions for top quality customer service are in greater demand than ever.
