MetroPCS Deploys Amdocs Customer Experience Systems

MetroPCS Communications, Inc., a provider of unlimited, flat-rate, pay-in-advance wireless communications service in the U.S., has announced it completed the conversion of all of its customers onto Amdocs (News - Alert) CES 7.5.

Amdocs CES allows providers to deliver an optimal customer experience that is personalized, participatory and timely across any service, location and device.

As part of the six-year managed services agreement announced on October 6, 2008, Amdocs is providing MetroPCS with integrated software for convergent real-time charging and billing, customer relationship management (CRM) and operational support systems (OSS) to support MetroPCS' pay-in-advance, roaming and retail offerings.

Amdocs officials said that MetroPCS has replaced its legacy systems with Amdocs CES (News - Alert) 7.5, and under the managed services model, the company has assumed responsibility for data center operations, systems operations and applications management.

"We chose Amdocs to establish our combined billing, CRM and OSS platform because Amdocs is the world leader in this space. Our choice was validated quickly as the new system is up and all our customers have been converted in just nine months. This rapid implementation was performed on time and on budget," said J. Braxton Carter, chief financial officer at MetroPCS.

Carter said that the innovation Amdocs brings to the marketplace will be a large, competitive differentiator for MetroPCS in the future.

"The tight integration of the Amdocs products will help MetroPCS to increase operational efficiencies for quicker product-offering introductions, and to equip our agents with a consolidated view of all customer information for faster resolution of customer issues and an enhanced customer experience," also commented John Olsen, chief information officer at MetroPCS.

Olsen said that by having Amdocs operate the systems at their data center; the company can also reduce operational costs and offer even lower rates to the customers.
Amdocs officials said that MetroPCS deployed multiple Amdocs OSS, CRM and business support systems (BSS), including products for service activation management, real-time session control, customer interaction management, self-service and real-time charging.
