Enghouse Acquires Trio Enterprises

April 07, 2009

Enghouse Systems Limited, a global provider of enterprise software solutions serving a variety of vertical markets, has acquired the business and shares of Trio Enterprises AB.

Enghouse officials say the acquisition was completed by Enghouse and certain of its subsidiaries including Syntellect Inc. The purchase price was approximately $7 million.

Trio develops telephony systems that help companies maintain high standards of service and availability. Currently, Trio has approximately 1,500 installations in Scandinavia. Trio handles company's customer contacts and helps employees focus on managing customer contacts.

Trio's solutions are scaleable and can easily be upgraded to meet tomorrow's functional and technical requirements.

Trio's 2008 annual revenues were approximately $15 million.

"We are very pleased with the acquisition of Trio," said Stephen Sadler, chairman & CEO of Enghouse, in a statement.

Sadler said the acquisition of this well-known industry leader will allow Enghouse to continue growing the company’s global presence and expand to new markets in Sweden, Norway and Denmark.

"Trio's significant Scandanavian market share, distribution channels, market focus and technology portfolio, are a perfect complement to Syntellect's core business,” said Steve Dodenhoff, president of Syntellect, in a release.

Dodenhoff said that the combined organization, capabilities and product portfolio will be able to address the full spectrum of market opportunities in the Unified Communication and contact center space.

Syntellect Inc. helps its customer base create, maintain and continuously improve superior end-to-end service for their customers - personalized service that values their preferences from the way they contact a business to the level of help desired.

Officials say Syntellect and Trio have a strong tradition of experience and expertise delivering switch independent interactive voice response and contact center solutions.

Officials say Trio's 15-year history as a provider of Enterprise Communication, presence, call and message management solutions in the Nordic region further enhances the combined companies' complementary product portfolio and efforts in meeting the growing Unified Communications marketplace.

Both companies enable the delivery of truly open-contact center solutions.
