Interactive Intelligence Expands Presence in Canada

February 13, 2015

For Indianapolis-based communications, collaboration and customer engagement solutions provider Interactive Intelligence, the North American (NA) market has been a mainstay since the company’s release of its first product in 1997. And, as the company has become one with a truly global footprint, business in NA has been good. In fact, just how good business has been is reflected in news that Interactive Intelligence is expanding its presence in Canada, where it first began operations in 2001, with the opening of an office in Toronto and a data center in Montreal.

It is notable that the company has more than 175 customers based in Canada. These include Air Canada Vacations, LCBO, Ontario Teacher's Pension Plan, Drug Mart, and other brand name companies.

Details of the expansion are as follows.

New Toronto office:  The new office will be located in the Greater Toronto Area technology district and staffed by sales, marketing, professional services, and dedicated cloud support employees.

Montreal data center:  The latest Interactive Intelligence Montreal data center is the company’s second.  It joins their Toronto data center, which opened in 2013. As Interactive Intelligence points out, combined, these data centers offer the company's Canadian cloud customers full geo-redundancy throughout the region.

The new Montreal data center has multiple certifications, including SSAE-16, and is a TIER III Design and Construction-certified multitenant data center with guaranteed 100 percent uptime. The company in recognition of its growing cloud business says, “Combined with the data center's virtualization technology and architectural flexibility, Canadian cloud customers can be assured that their most stringent security and compliance requirements will be met.”

Jo-Anne Finney, Interactive Intelligence's area director for Canada commented on the dual announcements that:  "Our growth in Canada is being driven by several trends here, including increased demand for cloud, mobile, analytics and social customer service technologies…With our mature on-premises software, our single-tenant cloud service delivered from our two data centers in Canada, and our new PureCloud? platform that offers enterprise-grade multitenant services, our customers get the benefit of the most comprehensive set of communications, collaboration and customer engagement solutions delivered however they want."

Investing in expanding operations in Canada’s two largest cities makes sense for obvious reasons, not the least of which is putting the data centers and support people close to the customers.
