IQMS Parle Francais as of Today

September 10, 2008

IQMS, a vendor of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, has added French language capabilities to EnterpriseIQ, the company's ingle-source ERP product.

Broadening the comprehensive functionality it provides to global manufacturers, IQMS now supports eight languages, including: English, French, Spanish, German, Mandarin Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Dutch, and Swedish.

"To remain competitive and successful, companies around the world must optimize supply chain efficiency and quality," says Randy Flamm, president and founder of IQMS. "This often requires language translation across multiple plants and with suppliers, customers and outsourced services."

As a single-source package, EnterpriseIQ "is able to provide production data from the shop floor to the front office, in real time, no matter where in the world a facility is located," company officials say, adding that by equipping multiple locations with native language functionality, within one database, "decisions can be made quickly and with absolute communication across multiple plants and globally distributed networks with multiple languages and currencies to track."

This past July, IQMS secured a deal with Phillips Plastics Corporation, a custom injection molder based in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

Phillips selected EnterpriseIQ's ERP software, IQMS officials said at the time, because "the system offered ease-of-use and manufacturing-specific functionality."

Phillips's previous system could no longer be upgraded and was not expressly designed for injection molders.

"An integral part of our strategy involves lean/six sigma, enabled in part with effective systems such as EnterpriseIQ," says Arnie DeWitt, the company's Chief Information Officer. "The best systems in the world can fail when they are not embraced by the user community."

The EnterpriseIQ product Phillips chose offered features designed to address the unique needs of plastics processors, including real-time production monitoring, industry-specific bills of materials, drag-and-drop graphical scheduling, multi-tool and family-tool functionality, regrind usage and consumption features, shelf life management, supply chain management and more - "all designed to enhance plastics processing productivity," according to IQMS officials.
