U.S. Patent Awarded NovoSpeech for its Quantum Search Application for Speech Recognition

July 03, 2014

NovoSpeech, an Israeli software company, has achieved new milestone by winning a notice of allowance from USPTO, for its quantum search application.

The company won this new patent for its advancement in "quantum search" application, which is an essential component of the company's speech recognition technology that cracks down the problem linked to memory and computational resources on handheld devices.

Memory and computational shortage usually occur in handheld devices, that is when the newly patented quantum search application usage arises. This application is useful in large-vocabulary speech recognition implementations and while "translating" a spoken utterance to text that needs huge memory and computational resources.

NovoSpeech has improved a quantum computing search algorithm explicitly for speech recognition searches.  Also, this newly granted quantum search patent shields NovoSpeech's innovation.

Tina Ornstein, CEO of NovoSpeech: "The accelerated manner in which all of our patent claims were deemed innovative, inventive, and industrially applicable shows that we are pioneers in the quest to provide very large vocabulary speech recognition that runs on platforms with memory/computation constraints."

Ornstein said that their company already has several agreements with industry partners, and are currently seeking additional strategic partners to share in the development of their next-generation product, a quantum speech recognition decoder that will revolutionize embedded speech recognition.

The NovoSpeech technology promises to offer reliable and superior user experience in real-life environments that will allow speech recognition to enter the mass markets. In addition, the company has now showcased that its algorithm searches through very large vocabulary speech recognition implementations even on handheld devices.

Steve Rhodes, Chairman and CEO of Trendlines said this is another significant milestone for NovoSpeech and furthers their mission to transform speech recognition.

“As the mobile device becomes an integral part of our lives, the ability to provide quality automatic speech recognition in different surroundings, across languages and accents, will become a competitive factor for anyone in this market,” Rhodes added.

NovoSpeech is devoted to develop leading-edge speech recognition engine that claims to provide highly robust, large vocabulary speech recognition entirely on-device.
