Sitel Announces New Hiring Round in Augusta Call Center

May 19, 2014

Sitel has been moving forward in a big way over the last few months and the latest step for the firm is to hire another 200 employees at their Augusta, Georgia call center. The addition of the new employees is a stark turnaround for a company that was actually struggling just a little bit a little more than a year ago. The 200 new employees means that Sitel will be boasting a total workforce in the area of more than 1,000 employees.

Sitel is based in the south, in Nashville and knows the region well enough to know exactly how many workers it needs in order to find success. A new customer for Sitel must agree, considering the influx of workers the contract has bred. Sitel won’t say exactly who the new call center employees will be working for but has said the clients are a Fortune 500 wireless provider and an unnamed major health care company.

The company has attributed the expansion to its local team’s expertise in billing, account records management and technical support. The company has been making some serious strides in all of those areas, as well as improved social media services.

“As a direct result of having realized measurable success in the delivery of their customer care, Sitel’s clients are now planning to expand their customer service workforce,” Sitel’s Augusta site director, Phil Madden, said in a recent statement.

Sitel is willing to look at all applicants, but the company has stated that it would rather hire people who have previous experience in the call center field. Sitel said that the new customer service associates will be joined by new management who will add the hires, but those management positions will likely be filled by people who are already inside the firm.

Sitel already boasts about 56,000 employees in more than 110 call centers located across 23 different countries.
