July 18, 2013

NextiraOne, a European multinational company that designs, installs, maintains and supports business solutions and communications services for over 60,000 private and public sector customers, is to build data center for Euro-Centrum Science and Technology Park in Katowice, Poland.

NextiraOne Poland has already signed a contract for the plan with Euro-Centrum Science and Technology Park.

The Euro-Centrum Science and Technology Park offers specialist services for research and development, consultancy and training specifically for technology companies operating in the fields of energy conservation and renewable energy.

"The aim of our investment is to develop the technical infrastructure of the Euro-Centrum Science and Technology Park in Katowice and to create the first laboratories for the development of energy-efficient technologies and renewable energy sources in the Silesia region," said Miroslaw Bobrzynski, vice president of the Euro-Centrum Science and Technology Park in Katowice, in a statement.

Bobrzynski said that a key element of the project is to create the necessary conditions for the location and development of high technology companies which can benefit from the potential of the business and scientific environments that meet here.

The newly established passive building will, therefore, house the data center as well as the laboratories and technology rooms, Bobrzynski adds.

“We chose NextiraOne because the company’s bid proposal best meets the criteria set out in the tendering procedure. We believe that the experience of our partner in the comprehensive implementation of complex projects, including those funded by the EU, is a guarantee of high quality services," Bobrzynski said.

As part of the agreement, NextiraOne is responsible for building the data center, which will accommodate the latest IT technologies and be responsible for providing communications services such as video, a virtual desktop solution (VDI) and the storage and archiving of data.

"We welcome the opportunity to participate in the creation of such an innovative project in the Silesia region. The Euro-Centrum Science and Technology Park will be a unique place where science meets business for the benefit of both,” said Marek Kobielski, CEO of NextiraOne Poland.

Kobielski said that the company is delighted to provide the extremely innovative data center to help the Euro-Centrum to fulfill this vision and especially to offer a wide range of new IT services.
