PathSolutions Delivers Total Network Visibility

June 19, 2013

We live in a sea of information, but not all that information is useful. This is particularly the case when it comes to network and VoIP monitoring tools.

“They have a voice quality problem, and they might software that says they have low quality scores. But they have nothing to help them actually dig deeper than that to find out where the problem is coming from, what is the root cause that is causing this issue to occur,” Tim Titus, CEO of PathSolutions, told ContactCenterSolutions in a video interview.

This often leads to senior-level technicians spending days sleuthing through the network to discover the root cause of the problem.

“It is great to know what the quality is, but if the user tells you they had a bad quality call and you have a score to tell you how bad it was, it doesn’t tell you where the fault was or why it occurred,” he added. “So a lot of these poor-quality calls tend to go unresolved.”

This led Titus to found Path Solutions more than 10 years ago in an attempt to bring total network visibility and help businesses easily discover problems and what they actually must do to solve them.

The company’s VoIP Performance Manager continuously monitors the performance of the entire VoIP network for issues, down to every port on every router and switch. It tells businesses when, where and why VoIP problems occur and even recommends how to fix them.

“Every port on every switch on every router, we’re going to be able to monitor for health and status,” said Titus.

Deploying the solution doesn’t take long, either. It takes less than 15 minutes to deploy the solution, according to the company.

“Fifteen minutes and you’re going to have your entire network monitored for health, so you’re going to know about any problem that happens on any switch, any router port, any gateway port, and know where the problem is, when it happens, and why it happens,” he said.

The same technology used in its VoIP monitoring solution also is available for network health overall; the company’s award-winning Network Performance Manager continuously monitors the entire network 24/7 for problems, again drilling down to individual ports.

It helps IT departments make the most of their technology investment by resolving issues before they become big problems and eliminating small performance hits that can make the network perform sub-optimally.

Because there are many network monitoring solutions, but most only go halfway by alerting organizations that there is a problem. The full solution requires identifying the root cause of an issue and helping a company resolve it.
