D-Link Launches Call Center and Testing Lab in India

May 31, 2013

Networking solution provider D-Link will discontinue their style of outsourcing services and will be establishing a call center in India that will be in-house. It will also be as setting up a testing lab in July in Goa, India. D-Link’s chairman AP Chen believes that the testing lab wil ensure better localization.

Chen said, “We plan to consolidate all the calls from the English-speaking countries to India. Initially, we will recruit 45 people in India, which would be slowly scaled up to almost 200 people”.

Currently D-Link has testing labs in South America, Taiwan, China, and Russia. The lab in India will assist the company’s domestic clients, and over time, the service will also expand to other markets such as Australia, Singapore, and Sri Lanka. In the next year D-Link will be exploring the possibility of developing a software center in India as well.

India is responsible for 8% of the global revenue of D-Link and has been growing yearly at 20%.

Chen noted, “We may look at setting up a production unit here in the future if there is a certain scale. India is a growth market for us.”

The company had also set up a high level repair center last February in Goa.

In Europe, Russia, and the United States, D-Link has seen a decline in sales, however, Europe is presently the largest market for the company and is accountable for 22 percent of its worldwide revenue.

D-Link Direct Service is in the works for their customers. The company will be able to pick up its customers’ faculty products and immediately replace their old product with a new one on the spot.
