Votacall Allows Constant Communication for Real Estate Development During Hazards

November 12, 2012

A hosted VoIP and cloud-based unified communications (UC) provider, Votacall delivers a VoIP solution with a built-in Disaster Recovery plan for National Development, a New England-based real estate development and property management firm, allowing for constant communication to tenants during events like Hurricane Sandy.

National Development was in need of a telecommunications solution for two of its newly acquired properties. While providing a robust mobility feature set and delivering a Disaster Recovery plan during emergency situations, the organization required a next communications solution to be a cost-effective and flexible technology that could easily and seamlessly transition to alternate locations.

To address its communications needs, National Development selected the Votacall Hosted VoIP platform. In a cost-effective manner, the Votacall VoIP solution, designed, implemented and managed by All Business Communications, delivered the necessary functionality.

The tenant experience is critical to the success of the organization as a development and property management company, since during an emergency, that experience can and will be defined. During a disaster scenario, National Development needed a solution that enhanced the tenant experience by allowing efficient and effective communication.

The Votacall Hosted VoIP solution was up to the challenge, and during Hurricane Sandy, it was put to that test.

"The Votacall Hosted VoIP solution allowed us to have uninterrupted communication with our tenants during the storm," said Greg Gagne, property manager.

They were able to create and update a power outage hotline with a hosted VoIP solution. To receive critical updates on the status of power in their buildings, tenants could access the hotline 24/7.

A Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plan is essential to the success of any organization, and the Votacall business class VoIP offering, within legacy platforms, addresses this major hole.

Mark Webb, director of IT, concluded that Votacall provides these two key properties with Disaster Recovery capabilities they would not otherwise have.
