generationE Technologies to Focus on IBM Service Management Domain
By Divya Narain, TMCnet ContributorIn a bid to become an end-to-end IBM (News - Alert) Tivoli solution provider, generationE Technologies is going to divest its BMC Remedy division to TuringSMI Group Limited.
Oak Brook-based generationE attributes its sales growth and market expansion to its competence in the IBM Service Management domain and has annnonced a sales growth of 200 percent in the past five years.
"I am impressed with generationE's significant commitment to both IBM and the Service Management market where they have a strong record of customer success and innovation," said Bob Jones, VP of Software Sales, Tivoli Americas, IBM.
"Advancement in platform technologies together with strategic acquisitions by the major software providers has finally enabled serious solution providers to provide a fully integrated set of Service Management and Service Assurance solutions by a single vendor," also said Casey Kindiger, CEO of generationE Technologies.
Enthused by its performance in the IBM Service Management domain, generationE has decided to focus on the IBM Tivoli market. The decision to sell the BMC practice to TuringSMI Group Limited is a part of this specialization strategy.
TuringSMI Group Limited is a noted provider of BMC Business Service Management solutions. The divestment is also being seen as a move that is in the best interests of the company's BMC Remedy customers and employees.
"I am confident that the combination of generationE's talented group of Remedy professionals and TuringSMI's proven success will deliver continued value to our BMC customers," said Kindiger.
As soon as the deal is closed, which should take no more than 40 days, TuringSMI will become totally accountable to generationE's extensive BMC customer base.
