Phillips Takes Business Development Job at Interactive Intelligence

March 01, 2012

According to Contact Center World, Mitchell Phillips is the new Australia territory manager for Interactive Intelligence. He will remain based in Sydney.

Company officials said Phillips will be ”responsible for new business development for the company's range of unified business communications solutions for contact center infrastructure, IP telephony and business process automation.”

As this reporter is currently based in New Zealand, we'll say “kia ora.”

Phillips has worked for the Aussie telecom and media behemoth Telstra, in sales and account management and in other roles, and comes to Interactive Intelligence with experience as senior sales executive for Witness/Verint Systems and Aspect Communications. Throughout his 18-year career in IT and telecom he's built up a specialty in contact center applications.

Interactive Intelligence officials say they're expecting Phillips to help develop the company's unified business communications products for contact center infrastructure, IP telephony and business process automation.

Interactive Intelligence specializes in contact center automation, enterprise IP telephony and business process automation, both on-premises and hosted.

Earlier this year Interactive Intelligence made another foray into the Southern Hemisphere, signing an agreement to purchase select Interactive Intelligence-related contact center assets of its South African-based reseller ATIO Corp.

TMC had the news that under the terms of the agreement, effective Jan. 1, 2012, “these assets are now owned by Interactive Intelligence Group,” and the new company will operate as Interactive Intelligence South Africa Pty Ltd.

“As part of the all-cash transaction, Interactive Intelligence South Africa will employ approximately 40 ATIO team members, and will begin direct support of nearly 40 joint ATIO and Interactive Intelligence customers located throughout South Africa and sub-Saharan Africa,” Interactive Intelligence officials said, adding that ATIO was founded in 1986 and is a privately held provider of information and communications technology services.
