New Scotland Manager Appointed by Interactive Intelligence



Interactive Intelligence (News - Alert), a global provider of unified IP business communications solutions, announced Thursday their newly appointed Scotland Territory Manager, Joan Hill.

Scotland currently employs 86,000 people across 400 contact centers and is considered a key growth area in financial services, telecommunications, outsourcing, utilities and public sector verticals.

Hill, who took up post earlier this month, is responsible for driving sales through developing new business opportunities as well as increasing Interactive Intelligence’s presence in the region.

“This is an exciting development for us and is the first in a number of new appointments that will be based in, and dedicated to, the Scottish market,” says Dave Paulding, Interactive Intelligence’s regional director UK, Middle East and Africa. “At a time when many technology vendors are cutting headcount and freezing recruitment, Interactive Intelligence continues to grow and invest.”

The new Territory Manger brings extensive experience with a strong background in contact center and telephony sales. Prior to Hill’s new role with Interactive Intelligence, she worked for Mitel (News - Alert) Networks in Scotland, where she was successful in winning key accounts in the local government and healthcare sectors.

Hill also spent five years with NextiraOne (News - Alert), selling converged voice and data solutions where her achievements included securing a significant multi-million pound contract with a major brewing organization for its flagship global headquarters, according to the release.

“Joan brings extensive experience of contact center and telephony solution sales in Scotland, with a network of contacts in multiple industries that will allow us to fast track our growth in the region,” said Paulding.

In related news, Interactive Intelligence reported solid fourth quarter results with revenues of $57.7 million, a year-over-year increase of 14.4 percent, as reported by TMCnet. According to the article, cloud-based orders were up 500 percent from last year and accounted for 23 percent of total orders in 2011.

“We show ever-increasing momentum among customer cloud deployments, which is the highest growth segment of our market,” said Interactive Intelligence CEO Donald Brown (News - Alert). “In 2012, we plan to capitalize on this momentum and step up investments to further enhance our brand recognition, extend our product capabilities and gain additional market share.”
