'CRM Mastery' Mentioned for Datran Media's StormPost 4.0 Release

By Niladri Sekhar Nath, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Calling it a "tool for mastering CRM, acquisition and monetization from a single platform," Datran Media, an inbox marketing and Web advertising products vendor, announced StormPost 4.0 at the Coremetrics (News - Alert) Client Summit 2008 in Fort Worth, Texas.

This ESP platform offers a "Facebook (News - Alert) social media marketing tool alongside other analytics, interface and ad inventory management enhancements," company officials say.

Datran Media's client base includes many of AdAge's most recent top 100 media company list, including Lionsgate, an independent producer and distributor of motion pictures, television programming, home entertainment, family entertainment, video-on-demand and digitally delivered content.

StormPost 4.0's Facebook tool makes it possible for marketers to send personalized communications to social media content subscribers through the StormPost system.
Other enhancements to StormPost 4.0 include analytics enhancements, upgrades to its user interface, trend-based reporting and Inventory Management features.

To date, the Datrainians say, ad-supported companies have been frustrated by standard ESP pricing policies largely designed for retailers and other organizations aiming to drive transactional activity.

Last June Datran Media announced its expansion into the Asia Pacific market following an investment in MadeForChina, a Chinese e-mail and online marketing company.

Though neither Datran Media nor MadeForChina revealed financial terms of the investment, both parties anticipate a long term strategic relationship and believe that their co-marketing and technology partnership will allow them to better serve large multinational advertisers and publishers.

The move was described at the time by company officials as part of Datran Media's continued international expansion, which will provide the company with local alliances in burgeoning markets including Asia and Europe.

According to Internet World Stats, 56.5 percent of the world population or 3,712,527,624 people and 35.8 percent of global Internet users currently reside in Asia today. That equates to 398,709,065 individual users; 10.7 percent of the Asian population. 2000-2007 was an especially high growth period, with a 248.8 percent increase in online use.

The online publisher also reveals that China leads Asia in the individual number of users by a large margin, boasting 137,000,000 online and an impressive 2000-2007 growth rate of 508.9 percent.
