CRM Veteran O'Rourke Appointed to Head Bluewolf European Expansion

Bluewolf, an on-demand consulting firm, has announced its expansion into Europe, and appointed CRM veteran U.K.-based Penny O'Rourke as managing director of Bluewolf Europe to drive new business.

Bluewolf sells Software-as-a-Service (SaaS (News - Alert)) consulting. Founded in 2000, Bluewolf was named by VARBUSINESS magazine in 2007 as one of the "pioneer consultants in the SaaS market," buoyed by consistent year-over-year 50 percent growth.

The firm's existing business serves a global base of clients, including the DuPont Corporation, The McGraw Hill Companies and The Royal Bank of Scotland.

Before joining Bluewolf, O'Rourke served as Director of Business Services for SurfControl (acquired by Websense in Oct. 2007), where she was responsible for the global rollout of Salesforce.com (News - Alert) to the sales, marketing and technical support organizations. At SurfControl, she was also CRM Director and developed the scope and deployment strategy for a global CRM platform.

"After eight years of growth in the United States, we are excited to take Bluewolf services to EMEA," said Eric Berridge, Co-Founder and Principal at Bluewolf. Company officials said Bluewolf's initial focus in EMEA will be the vertical markets where its U.S. experience is strongest: media, hi-tech manufacturing, and banking.

And bear in mind that industry observer Peter Kafka has passed along an announcement from Salesforce.com and its reclusive, media-shy CEO, Marc Benioff (News - Alert), about the 18th Annual Tibet House Benefit Concert at Carnegie Hall in New York City on Wednesday, February 13th.

Featured performers to date include Band of Horses, Ray Davies (!), Nawang Khechog, Marisa Monte, Sufjan Stevens and Tom Verlaine.

The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. Prior to the show, Salesforce is hosting a cocktail reception at the Rohalyn/Shorin Room at Carnegie Hall beginning at 5:30 p.m. and immediately following the show, there will be "a gala dinner" at the Metropolitan Pavilion (125 W 18th Street at 6th Avenue).

The benefit concert is made possible in part by a major gift from the Salesforce.com Foundation, which describes its mission as to "remain the leaders in pioneering, evangelizing and implementing the 1 Percent Model," and use this model as "a means to improve the lives of people around the world."
