mobilkom austria group to Deploy Colibria Enrich

February 01, 2008

mobilkom austria group (mag) will deploy Colibria’s new application presence solution, Colibria Enrich. Comprising a presence server and an XDM server, the solution will work as an enabling layer within mag’s service network upon which innovative communication services and applications, now and in the future, will be built.

Using Colibria’s technology across a range of already developed and emerging mobile markets, the group will enable select operators within its group to provide new value-added services to retain and grow their subscriber base. Thanks to these new, enhanced interactive communication services, users will be able to share information, such as profile details, status, availability, and preferred methods of contact, securely and easily.

Colibria explains this is one of the world’s first commercial next generation presence-based services. Initially these services will be deployed across three countries in Central and Eastern Europe, reaching a total of approximately 11 million subscribers.

In addition to presence-enabling existing services, such as VoIP, Colibria Enrich will be used to provide a key added value within new services that will enable mag to drive greater levels of differentiation and increase revenue opportunities.

Mladen Pejkovic, chairman of the Technology Board of mobilkom austria group, said they pride themselves on being a dynamic and innovative group, able to respond quickly to the needs of subscribers. He pointed out that being one of the first to be ready to fully equip all regional operations with Presence technology is a key part of their continuous evolution of services.

Pejkovic added that Colibria’s established position in the presence market and its ability to provide solutions tailored to specific needs in a short time frame mean they are an ideal partner.

Keith Gibson, CEO of Colibria explained his company is supporting mobilkom austria group as it looks to lead the way for mobile operators with one of the very first realizations of presence within a mobile service. With Colibria Enrich, operators are able to bring a new community-based model of communication to users.

Gibson added that Colibria has been working for over seven years to ensure that Colibria Enrich delivers the power to enable an entirely new user experience, something they call ‘Application Presence Enablement.’ They see presence as the very start of what could profoundly advance the way in which they communicate today.
